The half day

Four Hours Is Plenty

Morning half days run 6:30 to 10:30 and catch the main play block at its best. Afternoon half days run 1:30 to 5:30 and catch the calmer second session plus wind-down. Either way your dog skips the midday crate rest entirely — they are home, fed and asleep on the sofa by the time the full-day dogs wake up.

This is the right format for more dogs than owners expect: young puppies with no stamina yet, seniors with stiff joints, brachycephalic breeds in summer, and nervous dogs building up to full days one morning at a time.

What's In Every Half Day

One full play block

Mornings join the 9:00–11:30 session; afternoons join the 2:00–4:30 session. No filler time, no long crate waits.

The same 1:8 ratio

Half-day dogs get the same handler coverage and the same size-matched yards as full-day dogs. Shorter stay, same standard.

Settle-in plan for nervous dogs

First visits start with twenty quiet minutes in the calm yard with one handler before joining the group. We build up at the dog's pace.

Easy upgrade path

When your puppy grows into full days — most do around ten months — the switch is just a conversation. No second assessment needed.

Half-Day Questions

High-energy dogs do best in the morning block when everyone is fresh. Nervous or older dogs usually prefer afternoons, which are calmer and smaller. Try both during the first fortnight and see.

Not for a half day, as long as the second vaccination round is done. Young puppies come in the morning block and nap in the puppy room between bursts. See puppy daycare for the full under-8-months program.

Any time — just tell us at drop-off. If a half-day dog is thriving and you need the full day, we upgrade on the spot for the $14 difference.
