The puppy room

Small Dogs, Short Bursts, Big Naps

Puppies do not belong in the big-dog yards — the noise alone can set a nervous pup back weeks. Our puppy room is a separate, warm space where play happens in twenty-minute bursts with rest in between, matched to attention spans that are still measured in minutes.

Everything is foundation work disguised as fun: interrupting play when called, settling on a mat while others play, trading toys with a handler, napping in a crate without protest. Owners tell us the mat-settle alone is worth the fees.

What's In Every Puppy Visit

Separate puppy room

No big-dog noise, no full-size chaos. Puppies play with puppies of similar size and confidence, in groups of six at most.

Training-flavoured play

Name response, recall out of play, mat settling and toy trades — practised dozens of times a day by handlers, reported to you weekly.

Crate naps on schedule

Puppies sleep more than they play here, in individual crates with white noise. Crate-happy puppies make house training dramatically easier.

Weekly pup-date

A short written note every Friday: what improved, what to practise at home, and when we think they are ready for the main yards.

Puppies need their second vaccination round before starting. Most begin on half days and graduate to the main yards around 8 months — graduation day comes with a photo.

Puppy Questions

The second round of DHPP plus bordetella, given at least ten days before the first visit. Bring the vet record to the assessment — puppies without it cannot come in, with no exceptions.

Bad daycare can — rehearsed jumping, pulling and ignoring recalls all day. That is why our room is training-flavoured: we reward four-paws-down greetings, practise recalls out of play, and send you the same cues so home matches.

Usually around 8 months, sometimes earlier for big confident pups. We trial them in the calm yard for a morning first, watch closely, and only graduate them when they are ready — some take to ten months, and that is fine.
